“Digital Flood Dashboard” portal will ensure transparency in the allocation of funds and to keep informed about the rescue and relief activities in the flood-hit areas of Pakistan, says Ahsan Iqbal Federal Minister for Planning and Head of National Flood Response and Coordination Center (NFRCC).
On the special directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, NFRCC is formed to monitor the situation and update the public on the flood-crisis, says Ahsan Iqbal.
The purpose of this portal is to provide the information to the general public as well as donors about the rescue and relief activities and transparent distribution of food and funds in flood-affected areas.
He further said that the floods have affected nearly 33 million people and the scale of the flood was so gigantic that even if it had happened in any developed country, it would have been larger than their “administrative capabilities”.
Mr Iqbal said it is not possible to estimate the flood-related damages and loss, but it is being assessed on daily basis at district level the main reason behind this delay is most of the areas are still under-water.
