LAS and Acumen CEO Unite for Climate Justice and Gender Equity in Sindh

As Pakistan continues to navigate its climate policy, the focus must shift beyond high-level dialogues to real, community-level impact—especially for vulnerable, indigenous populations.

Acumen, a global nonprofit impact investor, recently announced a $90 million commitment to climate finance for hashtag Pakistan at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

It was a privilege to host Ms. Jacqueline Novogratz

(CEO, Acumen) and discuss how LAS is committed to advocating for climate justice and aligning with COP’s gender action plans to address the impact of climate change. By promoting gender-responsive climate advocacy, LAS highlights the crucial role women play in environmental stewardship through workshops, training, and advocacy in 8 districts of Sindh.

After the devastating 2022 floods in Sindh, where it nearly impossible to access relief and vital services, here’s how we responded:

✅ Held 211 community sessions, reaching 11,000+ people to raise awareness about civil documentation

✅ Helped 907 individuals to reclaim lost documents, and provided financial aid to 493 people

✅ Engaged 258 stakeholders to strengthen disaster-response frameworks

✅ Distributed 2,250 dignity kits to women and girls in affected areas

Together, we can turn these challenges into opportunities for sustainable, inclusive progress.
