JMICC and BlueNet+ Unite for a Sustainable Maritime Future in Karachi

KARACHI: The Joint Maritime Information & Coordination Centre (JMICC), located in Manora, Karachi, and BlueNet+ (BN+) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaboratively tackle climate change challenges and promote sustainable practices in Pakistan’s maritime sector.

This partnership represents a significant step toward addressing environmental concerns, enhancing maritime sustainability, and building climate resilience in the region. By combining resources and expertise, JMICC and BN+ aim to drive impactful initiatives that benefit the oceans and coastal communities.

The key collaborations areas would be the launch of tailored initiatives such as “Pathways to Net Zero” will equip maritime professionals with the skills needed to adopt sustainable practices. The capacity building and knowledge sharing; a series of workshops and seminars will promote awareness and expertise across the maritime sector and strategic development initiatives with joint projects will focus on sustainable development, climate adaptation, and resilience-building strategies for maritime ecosystems.
